The Wyoming Naloxone Project began in 2023.

The most significant success so far for this project has been removing the reporting requirement for naloxone from the PDMP. This change in requirements makes it easier for staff to distribute naloxone in a clinical setting.

We are currently working with the Wyoming Hospital Association to change our rules to more of a distribution model versus the current dispensing model and working with Wyoming ACEP to gain physician sponsorship.

What is WY-NOW

Wyoming Naloxone, Overdose & Workforce Initiative (WY-NOW). This initiative aims to decrease overdose deaths, through evidence-based education, awareness, and naloxone distribution to at-risk Wyoming citizens, focusing primarily on high-risk workers. The project will bring together industry and nation-leading medical experts, to create awareness and education that is medically accurate, evidence-based, and informed by the industries and front-line workers the project aims to serve.

Our vision is for every Wyoming worker to have the awareness, knowledge, and tools needed to respond to an overdose and for every Wyoming Employer to be empowered with the knowledge and resources needed to address overdose risk in their industries.
