  • Expired Naloxone Statement

    CPACC understands that using expired naloxone may raise a few eyebrows; however, in this section, we want to highlight the legality and stability of using expired naloxone to fuel leave-behind programs.

    There is a mix of regulation and science that approve of this method and ensure that it is safe.

  • Mile High RETAC Standing Order

    Naloxone is indicated for the reversal of opioid overdose induced by natural or synthetic opioids in the setting of respiratory depression or unresponsiveness.

    It should not be given to anyone with a known allergy to naloxone hydrochloride.

    It may be delivered intravenously (IV), intramuscularly (IM), intraosseous (IO) or intranasally (IN).

  • Sample Leave-Behind Naloxone Protocol

    Criteria for distribution of leave-behind Naloxone:

    Individual at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose.

    Individual in a position to assist a family member, friend, or other person at risk of experiencing an opiate-related overdose
